We review three teeny-weeny PCs (continued)

Sony VAIO VGN-UX490N/C 4.5-Inch Portable Computer
The VAIO UX Series VGN-UX490N/C Premium Micro PC from Sony is a tiny ultra-portable computer designed for the mobile professional. The computer features a wide-screen touchscreen LCD that can be viewed in either landscape or portrait mode. It can rest in the palm of your hand allowing you to use the included stylus to input information via the touchscreen interface or you can slide the screen up to reveal a QWERTY keyboard that allows you to hold the PC in both hands as you type.

The system is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Solo U2200 CPU and boasts 1 GB of RAM and 48GB NAND hard drive, wireless Ethernet, Bluetooth and an 4.5" Widescreen/Touchscreen display powered by Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 graphics.

Computing Unplugged's evaluation
This over-priced little beast actually runs Vista Business. Not sure whether we can say that's good or bad, but it's certainly a worthy feat. Without a doubt, this thing is cool as can be, but it's not for everyone.

Sony VAIO VGN-UX490N/C 4.5-Inch Portable Computer, produced by Sony, has a retail price of $2489.99. We give Sony VAIO VGN-UX490N/C 4.5-Inch Portable Computer a rating of 3 out of 5.

OUR RATING: 3 of 5
